BBQ & Bluegrass Night to Feature America’s #1 Bluegrass Group

Multiple-award-winning bluegrass band, The Farm Hands from Nashville, TN, will perform at JCity Church, Feb. 16, 7:00 pm.

Heard any great bluegrass music lately? Have you ever heard the #1 Bluegrass band in America? When’s the last time you ate your fill of delicious, lovingly prepared, barbecued pork or smoked turkey? Have you taken the one you love out for a nice evening that included a great meal and an award-winning show and the price was whatever you could actually afford to give?

This is what JCity Church is offering you. We’re the ones who had a booth at the Halloween Trail of Treats or Hometown Christmas in Johnston City and you probably met some of our great people and entered a drawing for one of our giveaways. In case you don’t remember, JCity Church is a Free Will Baptist congregation in Johnston City that works to put Christ and community first.

This is your invitation to attend “A Night of BBQ and Bluegrass,” Saturday, February 16, with The Farm Hands, Bluegrass music’s 2018 Band of the Year. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm in the church auditorium, at the corner of Broadway and Monroe (609 Monroe) in Johnston City. Before the concert, we’ll serve an “all-you-can-eat” BBQ dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall. Admission is free, with meal donations accepted and a freewill offering for the Farm Hands received near the end of the concert. Free tickets are available at www.jcity.church, by calling 618-983-5254, and at the door while seats are available.

The Farm Hands are one of the most exciting and talked about bands in Bluegrass Music. At the 2017 Bluegrass Music Awards, the Farm Hands were named ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR and for a third consecutive year bluegrass music’s GOSPEL BAND OF THE YEAR! Since their inception in 2010, they have received over 70 national awards and nominations. Their YouTube videos, Facebook, and Twitter pages have thousands of followers. They are one of the busiest touring bands in bluegrass, performing over 150 dates per year.

“BBQ and Bluegrass” is one of several community events we have planned leading up to our official, public “ReLaunch,” Sunday, March 24. We’ll also be the site of a Community Vacation Bible School involving multiple churches in the Johnston City area during spring break, March 10-14. If you’d like to know more, call 618-983-5254 or find details online at jcitychurch.com or Facebook @jcitychurch.
