ReLaunch 3D Continues Sunday Nights at 6:00

Join us Sunday evening at 6:00 to discuss the public relaunch of our church’s ministry in our community. Another exciting outreach opportunity is coming: Hometown Christmas (Nov. 24). We’ll meet in the fellowship hall for discussion and refreshments.

Women’s Bible Study Continues Thursday

Come this Thursday at 7:00 for Mercy Truimphs, Beth Moore Bible study on the Book of James. Interested but haven’t come before? Drop in any week for the video segment. Each stands alone from previous discussions and homework. See Sarah Fletcher for more information.

Christmas Food Drive Begins

The Johnston City Ministerial Alliance will begin registration November 26 for Christmas food boxes. Our church will provide the following items: instant potatoes, gravy mix, cake mixes, frosting, Jello, stuffing mix, canned corn, and canned green beans. Put donated items in the box in the foyer beginning next Sunday.

Community Thanksgiving Service Nov. 18

The Ministerial Alliance will hold its annual Thanksgiving Community Service next Sunday (Nov. 18), 6:00 pm at Washington Avenue Baptist Church, 9th and Washington. Father Brian Barker will speak. A pie fellowship will be held after service

Free Movie Premiere:
An Extraordinary Journey

Sunday, Nov. 4, 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall

Billy Graham: An Extraordinary Journey will go on sale to the public November 6—but you can watch a special showing of this brand new film right here at our church next Sunday evening. This powerful program invites viewers to discover the remarkable ways God used Billy Graham to reach millions of people with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We encourage you to invite people who are far from God to join you for this special movie presentation next Sunday night at 6:00 pm in the fellowship hall. We pray An Extraordinary Journey will inspire you to reach our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for the Treats

Thank you for bringing treats for the “Trail of Treats.” You can drop these off in the office where the copier is. We need helpers tomorrow night at 7:00 to prepare materials we will give to parents of trick or treaters. We will hand out this material and candy at our booth downtown on Broadway this Wednesday night, 5:00-8:00 pm. We need volunteers to help set up the booth, meet parents and children, and help us tear down and pack up. If you would like to volunteer, please see Marta Phillips. By the way, REACH will not meet at church this Wednesday night.

Women’s Bible Study Continues Thursday

Come this Thursday at 7:00 to participate in Mercy Truimphs by Beth Moore on the Book of James. Women are welcome to come watch the video portion of the Bible study in any session. No preparation or book is necessary. Please see Sarah Fletcher for details.

In order to cut the cost for our REACH meal ministry, we’re seeking donations of food and kitchen items. We’ll feature a few items each week in the bulletin. This week, we’re asking for hamburger meat, and foam plates. See the complete list of needed items on the bulletin board.

Women’s/Men’s Ministries Meet Tonight

Our Women’s/Men’s Fellowship supper and ministry meetings will be held tonight at 6:00 pm in the fellowship hall. The theme of the meal is fall flavors.

Help Needed for the Trail of Treats

The city will sponsor a “Trail of Treats,” Wednesday, October 31, 5:00-8:00 pm. Our church plans to set up a booth on Broadway downtown to give children treats, other freebies, and ministry info. We need both volunteers and candy. Please bring your treats to the church by Sunday, October 28. If you would like to volunteer, please see Marta Phillips.

Quarterly Meeting, October 27, Pittsburg

Representatives from many Free Will Baptist Churches in our area will gather at the Pittsburg Church for the South Central District Quarterly Meeting, October 27, 9:00 am. Phillip Kennedy, the new pastor at Benton First Free Will Baptist Church, will speak during the worship service. Everyone is welcome to attend (you do not have to be a delegate). The host church will serve brunch during the midmorning break.

Church Business Meeting, Oct. 7

Our regularly scheduled church business meeting will be held tonight after ReLauch 3D. We have important business related to our church finances and maintenance on the church bus. If you’re a member of our church, please come.

Women’s Bible Study Still Open to New Participants

It’s not too late to join the women’s Bible study that meets on Thursday nights. The introductory session was just last week. Come this Thursday at 7:00 to participate in Mercy Truimphs, a video-based study on the Book of James by Beth Moore. Please see Sarah Fletcher after service if you need a study book or more information.

Women & Men’s Ministry Fellowship Supper

Our next Women’s/Men’s Fellowship supper and ministry meetings will be held next Sunday night at 6:00 in the fellowship hall. The theme for the meal is fall flavors.

Halloween Ministry Options

Halloween falls on a Wednesday night this year and it’s just around the corner. Johnston City’s official trick or treat hours will be 5:00-8:00 pm and if you are willing, you can represent our church and share the gospel that evening. Washington Avenue Baptist Church will have a trunk or treat on their parking lot and you are welcome to decorate your car trunk and hand out treats there. Or you can help man a booth or table on Broadway, which will be closed to car traffic downtown for what the city is calling a “Trail of Treats.” We plan to have candy, gospel booklets, and other freebies to hand out there. Obviously, we need volunteers and candy, lots of candy! Please bring your treats to church no later than Sunday, October 28.

REACH Student Ministry

Our Wednesday night student ministry meets again this Wednesday. We serve supper from 6:30-6:55; worship and teaching begin at 7:00. There are groups for all ages so we hope to see you there.
